Pepsi-Co's UK best selling brand Walkers, have increased the size of the Grab Bag range of Crisps from 50g to 60g. This may not sound like a big deal, but such is the extent and detail of the research, development, and market study ability of the giant multinational, that Matt Goddard, Head of Impulse Field Sales, PepsiCo said: "Our research shows that when shoppers purchase our Grab Bags it is for a completely different occasion than Standard Bags." "By making our Grab Bags bigger, we are differentiating them from Standard Bags and making it easier for retailers and shoppers to understand our range." "We recommend retailers stock Grab Bags in addition to Standard Bags to maximise the incremental sales opportunity and cater for the one in five consumers who only buy Grab Bags." Quex Foods, who produce Kent Crisps, have secured a deal with British Airways to stock their Crisps, starting with the Sea Salt variety, on all short and medium flights from the beginning of November. The deal, which will be part of the airline's winter menu, will amount to a million bags of Potato Crisps. Quex Foods commercial manager Laura Audsley said: “This is a new and exciting era for the company, " adding, “Kent Crisps is a young yet very exciting brand and we believe this partnership will drive its growth forward, raising the exposure and awareness of Kent Crisps nationwide.” British Airways’ menu design manager Sinead Ferguson explained, “When we tested these crisps, we felt that they represented a taste of the best of British potatoes. Scotland Food & Drink reported that Mackie's Crisps by Taypack are introducing five new flavours to their range of Ridge Cut Crisps in time for the 2013 Christmas market. The new range is made up of the following four flavours: Caramelised Red Onion, Prawn Cocktail, Roast Ham and Sea Salt & Mixed Peppercorns, plus a new Lo Salt option. Marketing will begin in the Scottish supermarket that currently carry Mackies' range.
