New Food & Drug Administration regulations regarding cooking oils used in foods, will force Mr's Fisher's to alter their decades old recipe.
The FDA recently issued a ban on partially hydrogenated oils which is a key ingredient in Mrs. Fisher’s Chips.
The company claim this is the third time in the company’s history that an FDA regulation has caused the company to change their recipe. They say the plan is to reformulate the recipe to have close to the same flavor, but the chips will be lighter in body. 
It is understandable that businesses want to avoid regulation, red-tape and sales stifling laws but as this is a health issue, we at Chips and Crisp are most pleased that the health of Chips customers is being put at the forefront of issues like this.

Due to the success of the company's reduced sodium regular flavored potato chip, Better Made just introduced a reduced sodium version of their delicious BBQ flavored potato chips.
The new chips are available in a family-size 9.5-ounce bag, retail for $3.69 each, and can be purchased just about everywhere Better Made products are sold. "We wanted to expand on the good success of our 50% reduced sodium regular flavored chips, so earlier this spring we decided to add the new lightly salted BBQ chip flavor to give our customers a new option," says Mark Winkelman, President of Better Made. 
"Since our BBQ flavored potato chip has such a large following we thought a 50% reduced sodium BBQ Potato Chip was the logical choice. We experimented with the recipe and came up with a great tasting chip." 

The new Oyster, Chilli & Lemon flavour crisps are available in 100g drums and is the first fish flavour to be included in the range, which now has 11 options.
Tim Wheatley, sales director at Yorkshire Crisps, said: “We noticed a trend in ‘fish and chip’ flavours becoming popular in snacks and so this is our take on that. We think they’re perfect with a chilled glass of white wine or prosecco.”
The new Oyster, Chilli & Lemon flavour drum carries a picture of a 12ft steel sculpture of a fisherman titled “High Tide in Short Wellies” by Ray Lonsdale. The sculpture, which was bought for the North Yorkshire seaside town of Filey in 2012 by philanthropist pensioner Maureen Robinson, stands watch permanently on Filey’s Coble Landing, facing out to sea.
