It is a brilliant marketing coup for Doritos. The Montreal Gazette reports: MONTREAL — It is a fairly edgy concept, but it is also one that could bring its creators a $1 million cash prize. It is a 30-second spot for Doritos Tortilla Chips, and a Montreal post-production house, which put it together, has been short-listed for the prize as well as for an airing of the ad during the Super Bowl on February 2nd. In such a constantly busy environment, speed and accuracy of the weighing equipment are essential to maximise efficiencies and throughput and it is for this reason that the company has continued to invest in Ishida equipment over the years, each new model bringing further enhancements." "With Canadian sales now representing one third of Mackie’s Crisps’ export sales turnover, the premium snack specialists from Perthshire are preparing for a continued rise in transatlantic supply. "Canada is one in over 20 overseas markets that Mackie’s Crisps has entered since being formed as a joint venture between Mackie’s of Scotland and third generation potato farmers, the Taylor family, in 2009. The company selects the best varieties of Scottish-farmed crisping potatoes, which are naturally grown and cooked gently to ensure a great crunch, fresh potato taste and dry texture. Their traditional and ‘Specialty Scottish’ flavours have proven extremely popular around the world and, as their export business continues to grow, the company has recently expanded into a new factory in Errol – which is around twice the size of their previous facility – to enable them to meet rising demand."
