Cardboard Canisters
A less expensive variation on the same theme were cardboard canisters. During the Second World War tin was expensive and at a premium, so Potato Chips companies looked for alternatives.
Perhaps the most famous however is Pringles, who revolutionised the marketing of Potato Snacks during the 1960s.
The inventor of the Pringles can was Fredric J Baur who worked in Proctor and Gamble’s research and development department as an organic chemist and food storage technician.
