Lancashire has long been associated with potatoes – an essential ingredient in Lancashire Hot Pot.
The fertile fields surrounding the market town of Ormskirk produce potatoes renowned throughout the country. Over five decades of knowledge goes into growing our potatoes – experience handed down through the generations since Robert Fiddler established our farm in 1950. We’re proud to turn our delicious potatoes into even more delicious crisps. Each potato is hand cooked in small batches in pure sunflower oil. We then add the best natural flavours Lancashire can offer - Lancashire Cheese, Ellsey’s Malt Vinegar and the delicately spiced Lancashire Sauce – all made by crisps producers who care about taste and tradition just as much as we do. |
Fiddler's Lancashire Crisps Sweet Chilli
A Nose Plunge Test featured a nice sting of chilli. The flavour was not as sweet as suggested on the bag, and not nearly as sweet as many of its peers, which often hint towards Thai spices. I found this flavour leaned towards another flavour group - The hot sauce flavours. The after-kick was as enjoyable as the taste, but as a stickler for accurate flavour descriptions, a mark is lost for the lack of sweetness, despite how enjoyable they were. (19) |
