Red Rock Deli potato chips, one of Australia's popular snack brands, is making it stateside debut in select markets.

A staple of the British Crisps aisle, Prawn Cocktail flavoured Crisps seemed to be a bit of an anomaly in Tyrrell's extensive range. In that it did not exist. Until now.

​Cape Cod Potato Chips have released a new line of Kettle Chips, called Waves.
They are thickly sliced, ripple cut chips that are available in three varieties:
Sea Salt, Reduced Fat Sea Salt, and White Cheddar & Sour Cream.
The Sea Salt Waves Potato Chips are made with only potatoes, vegetable oil and a sprinkle of sea salt. The Reduced Fat Sea Salt Waves Potato Chips feature 40% less fat than the original.
​All three varieties are available for a suggested retail price of $3.79 per bag.

Spain-based snacks manufacturer Grupo Apex has acquired Papes Safor, which makes the Aitana brand of potato crisps (no figures relased). 
Papes Safor, was a family-owned business which was founded in 1992 and located in the province of Valencia. With a turnover of US$6.2m in 2017, it proved to be an attractive proposition.
Aperitivos y Extrusionado, better known as Grupo Apex, makes a range of snacks, nuts and crisps under brand names like Aspitos, Jojitos, Jumpers, Mooskys, Shiki-Shin, Puntazos, Vicente Vidal and MARINAS. It mainly markets its products in Spain through retailers, supermarkets and the 'Horeca' foodservice sector.
Santiago Sala, the general manager of Grupo Apex, said: ''This acquisition, in addition to establishing commercial and purchasing synergies and improved logistics efficiency, will allow us to improve the 'artisan' quality of our crisps and continue to lead growth and concentration of the sector." 
He added: ''The purchase of this new company in the sector is part of the expansion policy that Grupo Apex is carrying out within Spain. 
''We will continue to pay attention to the market in order to take advantage of new opportunities and incorporate companies into the group that allow us to maintain a sustained level of growth above that of the market."

Mackie’s at Taypack have exported 20 containers of crisps to Japan in the last 2 months, exceeding their target and shipping out an impressive 1.1 million packets since the start of 2018.
Over the last 12 months they have sent a total of 2.5 million packets to Asia with new distribution across emerging markets such as Taiwan, Thailand and South Korea on top of existing markets which include China, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Last year they took home the Scottish Food & Drink Excellence Awards prize for Export Business of the Year as well as the Herald Scottish Family Business Award for International Growth.
James Taylor, Commercial Director, commented on the recent boost in sales, “Asia has proved to be a key market for our export sales and although China was historically our biggest market outside of the United Kingdom we are delighted that Japan has now taken first place and appears to be going from strength to strength.”
Mackie’s currently sell their Scottish crisps to 28 countries worldwide, with the most recent additions to their exporting repertoire being Afghanistan & Pakistan.
