Eating is more than just swallowing food. Organic and organic-dynamic products offer not only more flavour to your food, they are also made from ingredients with more vitality. Because organic farmers care about the vitality of their produce, they do not use antibiotics, hormones, genetic manipulation, chemical treatments or artificial fertilizers. Organic and organic-dynamic cultivated products are controlled from the field to the shop and can therefore carry one of the internationally recognised seals of approval. Our organic Potato Chips are produced in a traditional way in a small family business. We use selected potatoes, grown in fertile organic land. We fry them in organic sunflower oil (100% non hydrogenated) which is very rich in polysaturated linolic acid. The cultivation of our raw materials, our production and the finished products are regularly monitored by SKAL, approved according to the EC legislation. FZ Organic Food produces over three hundred certified organic products that are mainly sold in health food stores in 26 countries. FZ Organic Food in Wolvega is located in a building of 6500 square metres with four different production areas. |
Trafo Lightly Salted Potato Chips
The bag proudly claimed that these chips were cooked in olive oil. I don’t want to get involved in smoke-points and the carcinogenic properties of foods cooked in oils, but my concerns were evident, as I tried a handful and discarded them quickly. That unnecessary diversion aside (I am sure the company did the appropriate research), The overriding taste was of sweet and greasy potato. It was a very pleasant variation on a traditionally vegetable oil fried chip. (9) |
