Acho Campesinas (Peasant) Potato Chips
Make no mistake, I purchased these chips purely because of the flavour description. I longed for the taste of a crusty old farmhand, maybe covered in a day’s toil and grime. Sadly, it was not to be. However, the actual meaning is even more romantic. The flavour is supposed to be the essence of peasant food, including tomatoes, basil, paprika, and onions. To be fair, it had a good go. Tomato was the stand-out taste, and there was a herby and slightly peppery addition. (15) Acho Fried Egg Potato Chips
The big Singaporean flavour is salted egg. Spain is the only other country I have come across that features a variety of brands that have egg as an ingredient option. There was not much smell when I opened the glorious black bag with the big bold fried egg image, but the flavour was simply perfect. Don’t get me wrong, they are an acquired taste, but the description was just about spot on. They tasted just like fried eggs. Now, where’s that ketchup? (19*) |
