Yum Yum Potato Chips

Yum Yum Chips was founded by Robert Bergeron in 1956, in Laurierville, in the Bois-Francs region of Quebec. The company was acquired in 1959 by the Jalbert family; notably Louis de G. and Paul Jalbert. The family owned business is now on its third generation. The main distribution areas are Quebec, Ontario and the US.
Between those early years and the 1980s, the production went from seven employees serving the local community to a 100,000 square feet Plant, with 240 employees.
During the back end of the 1980s, Yum Yum Chips invested a significant amount of capital in the modernization of most of its equipment, to take it to the forefront of production via modernity.
In 1989, Denis Jalbert, son of Paul, became the sole owner and shareholder by purchasing the remainder of his father’s shares.
Yum-Yum continued their progress and attempts to stay ahead of the competition and were the first Canadian Chips manufacturer to make the move to "0 Trans Fat" in their Chips. By 2004 they were making vegetable Chips made with 100% natural ingredients.
Yum Yum completed their product range with "Old Style" Kettle Chips after the purchase of a Kettle Stove in 2008.
