Marinas Mediterranean Crisps Pepper &
Modena Balsamic Vinegar I’m a big fan of an original bag design and the off-white packet with the two-colour imagery worked well on the shelf alongside other, more colourful offerings. However, the pinched top meant a horizontal tear along a dotted line was required to access the goodies inside. This is not how a potato chips bag should open. And so on to the flavour. There was a hint of pepper on these gnarly and curled chips. There was also the slightest hint of vinegar. It was hard to pin down balsamic without chomping on a few at a time. They worked but needed a braver addition of flavours. (15) Marinas Mediterranean Crisps Flor de Sal
d’es Trenc y Aciete de Oliva This Vincente Vidal brand came in a well-designed bag, which was impossible to open without clattering chips flying all over the place. They were gnarly and curly, with very crusty surfaces. The salt was instantly evident and the olive oi cooking process provided a warm and consistently creamy backdrop. Very well executed. (22) |
