Corporate giants Manderley Food, owners of golden Wonder, Tayto and Real Crisps, have received an insurance claim on a factory fire at the Real Crisps plant in Crumlin, South Wales.
The arson attack has indirectly financially benefited the company by a rise in profits for the year ending 2013, from £12.2m to £13.36m.
An exceptional credit of £10m was recorded, which was the surplus from the insurance proceeds over and above the book value of the assets lost and the restructuring of the group's manufacturing.
102 employees were made redundant after the fire and the manufacturing was relocated to the company's other plants. The majority of Real Crisps production now takes place in Corby.
