One of the oldest family-owned potato chip companies in the United States have introduced two new flavours: Spicy Dill Pickle Groovy Potato Chips and Old Fashioned Himalayan Sea Salt & Vinegar Chips. The flavors were chosen through taste tests and customer feedback, according to Mikesell's CEO Charles Shive said, "Taste testing and the direct customer feedback we received has been an important and integral way for us to interact with our fans. This interaction helped guide us to these new products that fans would both like and want to buy." The two new flavors will take Mikesell's offering to 21 and should increase the 25m revenue of last year. The new snacks come in three flavors: Sea Salt, Reduced Fat Sea Salt and White Cheddar & Sour Cream. Now available in retailers nationwide, Cape Cod Waves Potato Chips have a suggested retail price of $3.79.
"Inspired by the waves of Cape Cod and the delicious marriage of our kettle-cooked chips and your favorite dip, new Cape Cod Waves Potato Chips are a natural addition to the Cape Cod Potato Chip family," said Laura Merritt, vice president of marketing for Cape Cod Potato Chips. "We've taken pride in our brand promise to consistently develop distinctly high-quality snacks that deliver on taste, crunch and flavor, and our new Cape Cod Waves Potato Chips are no exception." This new on-pack promotion offers consumers the chance to win the lunch upgrade of a lifetime and every purchaser can also enjoy a digital film in full HD from CHILI Cinema (chilli.com) for just £1. The prize will enable one lucky winner and their guest to experience the life of a Hollywood ‘A’ lister and savour a poolside lunch at a top Beverley Hill’s hotel. During their stay in LA, the winners will also receive a behind the scenes VIP tour at Universal Studios and a helicopter ride over Tinseltown. The promotion is designed to reflect KETTLE® Chips’ singles brand postioning as a lunch upgrade and encourage consumers to trade up when snacking on the go. KETTLE® Chips is aiming to increase sales of its 40g singles and multi-pack ranges even further – currently up by 12.9% and 4.8% respectively year on year, way ahead of the categories which grew by 4.8% and 1.7%. Nicky Robinson Kettle Foods Commercial Director commented “We’re confident that this will be a very popular promotion and therefore this is a fantastic opportunity for retailers to drive up their sales of single serve crisps. The on pack offer and competition will appeal to a broad range of consumers so we’d encourage retailers to build up their KETTLE® Chips promotional stocks so their consumers can join in the chance to win the luxury holiday and to watch a movie or TV series of their choice” Giorgio Tacchia, Founder and CEO of CHILI comments “We’re extremely pleased to work with partners such as Kettle and look forward to welcoming their foodie consumers into our World of Cinema. Our expertise has built up over a number of years in the film industry; we offer quality and flexibility working closely with partners to meet their needs from personalising promotions to offering complete solutions.” To mark their 70 year journey from being a humble addition to a butcher's shop range of products to a small offering of a global American company's range of goods, Walkers has [re]introduced six varieties to commemorate each decade. 1950s - Coronation Chicken (not old enough to remember, but old cookery programmes all seemed to feature Coronation Chicken to commemorate the Queen's ascension to the throne) 1960s - Roast Lamb & Mint (they were obviously struggling for this one, they couldn't very well introduce Marijuana flavour - I don't think!) 1970s - Cheese Fondue (clever, I have never met a God Life type character, but maybe there were a few Welsh coal miners that sprinted home from a hard day down the pits for their Cheese Fondue) 1980s - Chicken Tikka Masala (nailed this decade) 1990s - BBQ Rib (they may have been rooting around for an American flavour, here) 2000s - Sweet Chilli (Looking forward to see how this stands up against the undoubted winning flavour introduction of the 2000s) Not those above, we haven't got images yet! Boulder Canyon Authentic Foods has expanded line of Rice Bran Oil Kettle Cooked Potato Chips with two new savory flavors — Buffalo Ranch and Sweet Chipotle. The new varieties were unveiled at this year's Natural Products Expo West show in Anaheim, California. Boulder's Rice Bran Kettle Cooked Potato Chips are sold in grocery, natural food, club and mass merchandise retailers throughout the United States - you may have seen the varities above because the new flavors will join Boulder's existing Roasted Jalapeno and Himalayan Pink Salt varieties. |
