Frito-Lay are the world's pre-eminent Potato Chips & Crisps company. It is perhaps understandable that to roll new products and innovations off the shelves can take some time.
However, this is one product that should have been with us a long long time ago.
Lay's Wavy Chips are of course an ideal texture to coat Chips in chocolate with, and there were also some clues for the future of the product in the publicity material.
To market their release ($3.49 for a 5 ounce bag), Vice President of Marketing Ram Krishnan said in a statement, "When you try something drastically different, you have to walk before you can run."
Most tellingly, Krishnan added, "We wanted to test our way through this before we go big."
