Canadians' unbridled love for ketchup-flavored chips is now the inspiration behind a new capsule collection from Doritos. While America is arguably the snack food capital of the world, you’ll be hard-pressed to find Ketchup Chips in the States. They’re considered a near delicacy up north though, where Canadians are famous for crunching on them as far back as the 1970s. That’s when the now nearly defunct Canadian Hostess Potato Chip brand (currently owned by PepsiCo Canada) first introduced them following a failed line of other “fruit-flavored” potato chips. In recent years, PepsiCo has brought the flavor back through several of its big brands, including a limited-time Doritos release in 2015.
