With an additional 12 operational members of staff and around 170 employees in total, Burts Chips have seen a rapid increase in production following the installation of a second high-speed potato frying line that has boosted production by 20%.
200 tonnes of Burts’ famous hand-cooked chips wil now be made every week, alongside 23 tonnes of the fast-growing Better For You range of Lentil Waves and Quinoa Crinkles launched in the past two years.
This increase in capacity will help satisfy the growing demand for the brand from retailers across the UK, US, Canada, and Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
With sales increasing from £11.4million in 2013 to £24.5million in 2016 the need was clearly there for this rapidly growing business.
