Verdict

Bag

Probably the best designed Walkers bags so far. They are black with a flavour colour coded shield in the centre. The use of the shield shape is synonymous with strong imagery, which these flavours are all about. The bold wording also reveals the worthiness of the product inside. We would have liked the flavour description itself to be more prominent, but that is the only criticism.

Crunch

As with most Rippled Crisps, these mulched up nicely. They had to be thick enough to sustain the corrugations, which decreased the brittleness, but it’s a worthy trade off even if it does compromise the Crunch.

Texture

Oil soaked medium thickness Ridges greeted us as we opened the bag. There was some seasoning visible, and several very large Crisps. There was enough thickness to ensure the broken Crisps remained at the bottom of the pack.

Taste

A Nose Plunge Test immediately promoted a mild and welcoming Cheese flavour. That was the case – the Jalapeno promised on the bag immediately slapped the back of our throats, and then as the flavour dispersed its magic there was a mild and fruity Cheese mixed up with heat.
