With a constructive critique approach, we would say the Utz logo is charming and historic. The Wavy line drawing is appropriate. The bottle of Tabasco Sauce says it all. To summarise, Utz must be very confident of their position in the marketplace because all of their own brand bag designs are very dated and border on the inappropriate for a modern market.

Crunch
Although Ridged Chips generally take a little longer to munch through, a decent sized Chip took just 11 seconds. There was no crispy brittle crunch, it was more of a soft and mulchy crunch, a bit like walking through Fall leaves.
Texture
Many of the bag constituents were large in size and the Wavy Ridges were wide and full. There was not much seasoning visible on the oil bubble free surface, but it was compacted within what appeared to be very greasy looking Chips.

Taste
A Nose Plunge Test revealed a Tabasco aroma. A good start. The Chip also delivered what it promised on the bag; salty potato with Tabasco. As there is a picture of a bottle on the front of the bag, we would assume this was a partnership between the two companies. The Tabasco Sauce people would obviously not agree with the launch of a product that did not taste as it should. The heat is also there. It isn't a startling heat, but it is mixed with soft and gentle potato. The calming influence is appropriate and welcome.
