Shearer's have undergone yet another re-packaging process. They have re-positioned a number of flavors under a 'Home Style' banner. This design is just as striking as the broad black sided bags that are now under the Kettle Cooked section. They are basically the same, but in red. Each of these flavors has its own flavor coded color behind an outpouring of Chips. Nothing to fault, everything to praise.

Crunch
These Chips seemed rather soft when bitten into. Yet the crunch was hard and meaty. A thickly cut Ridged Chip tends to have this in common with its peers. There was no crispy, snappy munch, but when dipped, these maintained that familiar wholesome crunch.
Texture
The contents of our packet included a few smallish Chips but most were medium in size and had medium density Ridges. The coloring was somewhat light, creamy potato with a powdery substance covering the surface, plus the odd green fleck for extra character.

Taste
Shearer's have snuck up on us with this variety. The most popular dip is Sour Cream & Onion, so why not make Chips, ideal for dipping, pre-flavored with Sour Cream & Onion. Genius! And they do taste of Sour Cream & Onion. The first few Chips we crunched into tasted a little salty, creamy potato, then onion seemed to kick in to combine to make a balanced flavor.
