Verdict
Bag
The Ruffles Original flavor bag design is as well known as the brand. The light blue, the positioning of the logo. It all looks so familiar. And bland. It seems odd that a company like FritoLay would have the second biggest brand name in the US, yet do nothing with it. Firstly, Ruffles needs a logo. The lettering may be familiar, but it should be treated like a standalone brand. The two tone blue at the top of the bag should be Wavy; der! The bottom should be larger and flavor color coded. More should be made of the slogan, 'RRRuffles Have Ridges'. But mostly, the new two man teams of the 'Max' flavors and the 'Ultimate' flavors, should be made to feel part of the family. The Hispanic flavors are a small progression in design, but they still feel separate, with just the brand name in common. It is all a bit old-fashioned, disjointed and disparate.

Crunch
These were nicely cut, medium width Ridges, that broke smartly under pressure. The oil infusion ensured that the crunch was of a firm and thick, meaty style, with perhaps a little softening after three or four bites.
Texture
These Chips were the standard sort of Ruffles size and shapes. They were mostly fairly flat because of the nice thickness. The centers started out a little pale and grew more yellowy towards the edges. There were also some oily patches. The Ridges were neatly spaced and coated in flaky seasoning. There were also some flecks of green here and there.

Taste
We won't add this to the Bag Review because it is perhaps more pertinent here - The dripping Cheese did not look inviting. If the contents of the bag tasted anything like the image looked, a health conflict could be created. Yeah, a great looking taste, but will you survive eating it? The potato skin thing is a little misleading, but there was definitely a Sour Creamy Cheese there and a background flavoring that could possibly be described as smoky enough to be bacon. It was certainly a combo, so if you enjoy the components, these could be the Chip for you.
