Verdict

Bag

Kettle Chips certainly keep it simple. And so shall we. Colour coded bags. Colours associated with the flavour. Minimalist design. Plain but fairly perfect.

Crunch

Whether these Crisps were softened up by the oil is debatable, but they certainly did not have as loud and brittle a snap as most Kettle Cooked Crisps. They seemed to soften even more quickly than regular Crisps.

Texture

These Crisps were not as irregularly shaped as most Kettle Cooked Crisps, although they did have a fair amount of good and large oil bubbles. There was a coating of pale orange cheesy seasoning. There was also the odd spot of dark seasoning.

Taste

A Nose Plunge Test did not give much away. We were expecting a little onion aroma, but there was nothing. Similarly, the Red Onion part of the combo seemed to have disappeared from our test bag. There was a pleasant creamy cheese flavouring that would probably register on the medium to mild scale rather than Mature. Oddly there did seem to be a slightly oniony after-taste. It should be said that although these did not really taste too much like the flavour written on the bag, they were very enjoyable.
