Verdict
Bag
Maybe someone had a great steak in Kansas, Maybe sales of Herr's Chips needed a boost in the state. We think the marketing motive was based around the Kansas City Strip Steak, and hopefully it has worked for them. It is one of a variety of different flavors in a weird and weirder range by Herr's. While some of the packaging appears directly aimed at a younger market, this has old style cowboy writing. The checked dark brown and light brown bag works, but it all looks a bit of a mash up of different design ideas.

Crunch
A hearty and meaty crunch which, aided by the flavor, felt think and strong. The crunch was a breakable type of crunch rather than a crispy, snappy sort of crunch.
Texture
A good bagful of mostly whole wide Ridged Chips. Many were curved like dipping Chips or fairly straight. There were very few oil bubbles visible and more oil than seasoning. A greasy fingers and napkins Chip.

Taste
Firstly, it should be noted that even by Herr's standard, these are high in saturated fat, salt and sugar content. But this is a Taste Test, not a health judgement test - we just thought you should know. And as for the taste, well these tasted a bit like beef. Not so much a pinpoint accurate to a city beef, but more of a generic beefy gravy type of flavor, with a bit of onion seasoning maybe, plus a hint of salt - actually more than a hint of salt.
