Verdict
Bag
Recently updated packaging has seen Deep River keep their traditional logo, while also retaining their star-burst color contrast and the graphic kettle and sliced potato. What they have changed is the main bag color - each different flavor has a bold and striking color packet which will stand out on the shelves. Aside from an out-dated graphic of a Kettle boiling, ready for slices of potato that look more like a loaf of bread, the green color is one of the most striking in the range.

Crunch
A few of these Chips had a little too much oil. A couple were actually folded in quarters, which we had to put to the crunch test - it was like biting into a cracker, rather than a Chip. Some of the more oily looking Chips tasted a little softer, but more crunchy. A confusing, mixed bag of mostly very crunchy Chips.
Texture
These Chips seemed to vary throughout the bag. They were mostly small, with some curled and bent ones. There were oil infused bubbles of varying heights. Some of the edges were brownish in colour and the overall color looked a little dirty yellow, which was nice.

Taste
Firstly, we would like to question the phrase 'Zesty'. How does that apply to Jalapeno? Is there grapefruit peel included or something? Maybe it means enthusiasm - an enthusiastic pepper perhaps! 'Just' (in big letters) Jalapeno, may have had a bigger impact, because the ingredients include: Potatoes, Sunflower Oil, Jalapeno Chili Pepper, Salt. Nothing else. Surely we can't go wrong... Well this is where it got interesting. There was no aroma when the bag was opened, and the taste was mild. Then it got hotter. Not much hotter, certainly not as much as a real pepper would, but in Chips parlance, probably about right for those that like the flavor of Jalapeno, but don't want to eat them!
