Verdict
Bag
Recently updated packaging has seen Deep River keep their traditional logo, while also retaining their star-burst color contrast and the graphic kettle and sliced potato. What they have changed is the main bag color - each different flavor has a bold and striking color packet which will stand out on the shelves. The purple is a little odd and disconnected from onion or derivatives of onion, but nevertheless it is striking - if only they would do a bit more with the Kettle and potato graphic.

Crunch
These relatively thick Chips, certainly compared to regular Chips have the added benefit of being Kettle Cooked - which always provides a superior crunch. It is a thick, firm and hearty crunch which will not feature munching on soaked mush as soon as a handful enters your mouth.
Texture
A pale Chip, but a well oil bubbled surface, with few broken areas, which suggests the Chips are thick enough to withstand separating but remaining intact. There were some welcome scraggy edges and a small amount of seasoning. There did not seem to be much grease around.

Taste
There is little to no aroma, although what there is probably resembles onion. The flavor would be an acquired taste, but a really good version of it. The sweet onion flavor is clear and present. It does what it says on the pack and you can't argue with that.
