California Chips have re-designed their packaging from a striking bright yellow bag with a sunny and bright company logo, to a black and white picture of a crack in the earth with a few Chips at the bottom of the image. We like the color coded top and bottom, but that is all. As we do not have anything more positive to say, we will stop there.

Crunch
Perfectly average, which was a good thing. The mostly complete Chips were not too thin and thick enough to provide a crunch. Not the sort of crunch you might get with Ridged Chips, but as good as you are likely to get with regular Chips. Good but not earth shattering!
Texture
The only Potato Chips we have ever come across that had a right to be crushed at the bottom - Earthquake, geddit! However, this was not the case, most of the Chips were solid and whole. There was a light dusting of seasoning powder, but we didn't get too much finger residue from what appeared to be a relatively low amount of grease.

Taste
Call a Potato Chip Earthquake flavor and it really can taste of anything. It's a great get out cluse for some companies, but California Chips have jumbled in all their seasoning powders as an expeirment and come up with a really tasty Chip that doesn't have one dominant descriptive falvoring. The Chips may be a bit vinegary barbecue, they may be a bit creamy salty. Mostly, they tasted a little sweet and tangy. These are certainly the best Earthquake flavor Chips we have ever tried!
