We will get the preliminaries out of the way first: The logo is the right size, the positives are all visible at the top of the bag (All Natural, Gluten Free, No Trans Fats etc.), the photo and flavor are prominent, fresh looking and professionally taken. Now the main event - the color of the bag. This is not always that important but here Boulder Canyon are presenting a flavor combo few would ever consider. There is of course only one way to present it - an emphasis on freshness. The pale green screams fresh and healthy. This is Boulder Canyon's best bag in a list of great designs.
Crunch
Firm and crunchy with a good snap when you break a good sized Chip in half (we call it the Snap Test). Although some Chips had more clear oil patches than others you expect that with Kettle Cooking. A few were a little softer than others though.
Texture
Although there were irregular shaped Chips, with some curly and lots of bubbles displaying the cooking heat, the thickness of these Chips saw a more even shape to the majority of the content. There was a powdery residue, and some green flecks, but they were less messy than a lot of Kettle Cooked Chips.
Taste
Rarely is a flavor more looked forward to than this one - our taste tests are more than familiar with the usual varieties and this was a first for us. There is a mild spicy aroma when the bag is opened, but it doesn't smell of either vegetable. In fact, as both artichoke and spinach are relatively taste free in comparison with stronger tasting vegetables the taste turned out to be a bit random and spicy. We can't say for sure whether it tasted like Spinach or Artichoke, but these herby Chips were enjoyed and a second bag was welcome.
