The United Chips of America - What's Your State Chip?

Massachusetts

When a brand permeates the essence of a region so succinctly it can easily be mistaken for a historical emblem of the life and times of that region. Cape Cod Potato Chips, and their fantastic lighthouse imagery, has surprisngly only represented the State since the 1980s. The white bag of their Original flavor could easily be accepted as the Massachusetts State Representative Chip.

Michigan

One of our favourite ‘New Kid on the Block’ companies is the Great Lakes Chip company, who encapsulate what is great about the State in their marketing approach. However, the good people of Detroit allegedly eat nearly twice as many Potato Chips as the average American over the course of a year. It would therefore be remiss of us to overlook a company that proudly boasts that it has outlasted 22 local competitors: Better Made. While their flavors are generally traditional and easily compared to others, their tried and trusted Barbecue flavor is one of the State’s most popular.

Minnesota

While the Official Potato Chip of the Minnesota Twins is currently Barrel ‘O Fun, a company that also owns such regional delights as Rachel’s, Beer Chips and Tio Carlito’s, Minnesota also has one of the most famous and traditional US Chips companies to affirm historical reference when people of any age consider Chips of their childhood. Old Dutch may be one of Canada’s biggest brands, but it was born and raised in 1930s Minnesota. As the research suggests that this region of the country enjoys a thick cut non-traditional Chip, we will mix in a nod to Canada with a rather off the wall flavor. How about Hot Buffalo Wing & Bleu Cheese?
