It is a brilliant marketing coup for Doritos.
The Montreal Gazette reports:
MONTREAL — It is a fairly edgy concept, but it is also one that could bring its creators a $1 million cash prize. It is a 30-second spot for Doritos Tortilla Chips, and a Montreal post-production house, which put it together, has been short-listed for the prize as well as for an airing of the ad during the Super Bowl on February 2nd.
This is the eighth year that Frito-Lay, makers of Doritos, has done its Crash the Super Bowl contest, wherein consumers are invited to make their own 30-second commercial for the product — the more wacky, the better.
But this is the first year that the competition has been open to contestants from outside the US.
