Verdict
Bag
Kettle Brand certainly keep it simple. And so shall we. Color coded bags. Colors associated with the flavor. Minimalist design. Plain but fairly perfect.
.
Crunch
These were fairly standard for Kettle. The crunch was crisp and light with a fairly even breaking point. The Chips did not turn mushy as soon as they hit your tongue like regular Chips can.
Texture
These could have been called 'Kettle Shapes' such was the lack of uniformity in design. A couple of bent double Chips were full of oil and residue. Mostly, they were thicker than regular Chips but fairly standard looking Kettle Chips. There were lots of brown patches and skin was visible on most Chips.

Taste
Regular readers of our reviews will know we feel quite strongly about flavor combinations on these pages. And with this example we found a quite over-powering vinegar flavor. Kettle do not have excuses either - they have a very well balanced Balsamic & Sea Salt version for the UK market, where Salt & Vinegar is the second most popular flavor. These however, have three basic ingredients that you should savor; potato, salt and vinegar. It gets worse - it isn't even a strong vinegar flavor that overpowers the Chips, but a mild, somewhat inoffensive one. If you're gonna get a flavor wrong, at least make our eyes water!
