Verdict
Bag
There is only so much you can do with celebrity endorsements. When it comes to Chips, they have to take a back seat to the celebrity in question. No-one would suspect that Dale Earnhardt Jr spent his spare time in his kitchen rustling up Chips for his racing buddies. The bottom half of the bag does what it should, advertise the contents in a modern way with flavor color coding and a graphic of the ingredients. The top half of the bag features the autograph and a photo of the man himself. It's all rather uninspiring, but in the marketing world this is where the packaging comes second. It's all about the celebrity in question.

Crunch
These Chips pretty much crumbled as soon as the chomping began. A crispy, snappy crash, rather than a hard fought battle to the swallow line. Don't worry, we will be mixing metaphors really badly in all our Dale Jr reviews.
Texture
A relatively thinly cut Chip with no visible skin on edges and an uneven but healthy looking covering of oil bubbles. There was an orange colored seasoning spattered among the golden yellow and oil mixture.

Taste
A Nose Plunge Test revealed a somewhat smoky, meaty aroma. The initial taste backed that up, a smoky, sweet vinegar mixed up with what tasted a little like British beef style Chips, but that could have just been mind tricks. We were expecting a relatively tame heat, and that is what we got, but Carolina Barbecue has a sort of traditional and original flavor and so did these Chips.
